Hot Hawaiian Tuna

Now, this may not look very pleasant but it tastes AWESOME! I swear it came out of some old cookbook from the 1970s of quick and easy meal ideas. It's a must try! I can remember my mom making it for me since I was a wee tot. :)

2 tbs. butter
1/4 cup green pepper
2 tbs. chopped onion
2 tbs. flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Miracle Whip
7 oz. can drained tuna
1/2 cup pinapple tidbits or crushed (drained)

Saute green pepper and onion in butter. Mix flour and milk to make rue.
Add Miracle Whip, tuna and pinapple. Serve over toast or rice.

Now that is interesting lol! I have lived in Hawaii for going on 20 years and I never heard of this one..though I know they do like can tuna here..they eat it on rice sometimes..with shoyu.

I want to say I would try this..but I don't know lol! I grew up eating 'cream tuna on toast' when I was a kid on the mainland. Cheap meal for poor folk! and it's good! but the added green bell pepper is a definite no for me..I'd have to change it to red..and miracle whip would have to be reg mayo..MW is too sweet for me. and Pina...hmmm...just don't know lol!
