Egg Donation

So, this past Tuesday I completed my final egg donation. I have donated 7 times total. This egg donation was special though. I actually got to meet the couple I donated to AND it was my first donation to a same sex couple. I actually got to meet them and their surrogate and all of them are absolutely wonderful! I have been in constant contact with them via the phone, email, and text since the start. They are happy, stable, loving, and caring people. They will make GREAT parents! I traveled to Tampa, FL last Friday for my egg retrieval which was on Tuesday with Dr. Mayer at the USFIVF clinic. I can't say enough good things about my experience there. Dr. Mayer is wonderful. His staff is amazing. As they injected the anesthesia in the operating room the nurse was rubbing one arm and Dr. Mayer was holding my other hand telling me that he would take good care of me. My egg retrieval went so smoothly and I have little to no pain afterwards. They retrieved 17 eggs. 14 were fertilized. They will be doing the embryo transfer any day now which means that I will be hearing if there is a pregnancy in about 2 weeks. I am so excited for them! I'm hoping to be back in 2 weeks with an exciting update!
